I currently works as an associate video producer and politics reporter for CBS News where I edit video and write articles for the politics section of CBSNews.com. I work on the production team for "The Takeout," a CBS News original podcast and streaming show on CBSN, where I help produce, shoot, and edit the show in addition to curating its social and web presence. I also edit web video for "Face the Nation" from the live Sunday morning broadcast. The position allows me to combine my love of politics and policy with my passion for journalism, podcasting, and video production.
I believe in the power of both written and visual journalism as mediums for responsible information sharing and compelling storytelling. My interest in journalism began at a young age in my hometown in Massachusetts when I became editor of my high school's online newspaper and interned at the local cable television station after school. From then on, my love for journalism grew and soon developed into a passion for new media and videography.
I graduated early from George Washington University in December 2016 from the School of Media and Public Affairs with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication including a double minor in Spanish and music. Upon graduation, I received Special Honors in my major and earned a magna cum laude distinction. In the spring of 2016, I received the Hoberman Prize for original and meaningful journalism from SMPA.
In my time as a student at GW, I honed my journalistic craft through a variety of projects within my coursework at SMPA and through my position as video editor of The GW Hatchet, George Washington University's award-winning student newspaper. I also had the opportunity to gain professional journalism experience during my undergraduate career through a variety of internship and fellowship programs. In the fall of 2015, I interned for NBC’s Meet the Press, assisting with research, production, and guest management for the broadcast. Following this, I expanded into digital journalism as a politics fellow for HuffPost Politics where I wrote articles in addition to producing, shooting, and editing original video. Just before starting my senior year, I also had the opportunity to intern for ABC's This Week with George Stephanopoulos, focusing on the 2016 presidential election.
